Dayashankar Pandey’s new Rajneeti with Ajay Devgan

Dayashankar Pandey who is now essaying the role of Shani dev in Mahima Shani Dev will now be seen in Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti. Interestingly the actor would be playing the role of Ajay Devgan’s father.

We spoke to Dayashankar Pandey about this film,

“Yes I play Ajay Devgan’s father in Rajneeti which sounds very difficult to accept but everyone will be surprised by my new character. This film’s subject is quite unique as it deals with Political parties of Northern India and how elections affects the rural India.”

Further he told us, “It was really great pleasure to work with Prakashji and Ajay. I am sure that the film is going to be the talk of the town.”

Its speculated that Katrina Kaif is essaying the role of Congress head Sonia Gandhi and the story revolve around Northern politics. The shooting of the film has taken place in Bhopal and other interior parts of Bihar and UP. Rajneeti is set to release in Jan, 2010. -Sampurn Media

Bald Arjun Rampal And Katrina Kaif as Sonia Gandhi

We had seen Arjun Rampal with long hairs, but in Rajniti you could not find any hair on Arjun Rampal's head because his character in Rajniti is totally bald. His kids are not happy without hair, but Arjun Rampal and Prakash Jha had no option.

Arjun Rampal said that Prakash Jha about four years ago contacted and asked about being casted in his next film, which he delightfully agreed, but then Prakash Jha got underground for next four years and now once again after four years he contacted Arjun and asked about his dates.

One would surprise where Prakash Jha was during this period. Prakash Jha was researching on Rajniti and also making a close eye on Bihar elections so we would hopefully see Bihar's Rajniti and characters of Bihar main politician i.e. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rambilas Paswan, and chief minister Nitin Kumar, but I hope to see their politics not their character.

Everyone believes Nana Patekar to be a lose tempered person. If it is a truth then it would certainly be in the past as Nana is helping to manage anger of director Prakash Jha while shooting of his most awaited Rajniti-2009.

Prakash Jha was shooting at Kotra Ground just outside Bhopal city where crowed went out of control and Prakash Jha was screaming at crowd and Nana Patekar was calming down Prakash Jha by saying that "Pyar do to sab waapas pyar dete hain"

Prakash Jha admitted that Nana is helping a lot during shooting and he is used to be a different person while shooting.

A shoot was also taken on Katrina Kaif, which reportedly resembles with Sonia Ganhi's character. So out Bikini Babe Katrina Kaif has turned into Political Bahu. But Prakash Jha is denying these rumors by saying "Except that both are good looking and wear saris nothing is common between the two. Let people speculate."

Prakash Jha In Real Rajniti

Prakash Jha now ready also his luck in real Rajniti too as he is going to
contest LS polls from Bettiah. It is second attempt in Rajniti and is quite
confident about this as well as his Rajniti movie by saying ""I had
contested the last Parliamentary elections as an Independent but this year I
will not repeat my mistake and run on a major political party ticket" Good

A post in Manoj Vajpayee Blog reports that he liked Rajniti shoot very much as there were so many stars and he is interested to come in politics as he thinks his appetite for acting has not fulfilled yet, but he also admits that good person should come in Rajniti to make it clean.

Director Prakash Jha to begin shooting of ”Rajneeti” from Jan

Bollywood producer-director Prakash Jha today said the shooting of his next venture ”Raajneeti” (politics) would begin from January end next year. Jha, who was in the steel city in connection with his proposed Rs 50 crore multiplex complex project here, told reporters that his new film would be based on “his understanding of democracy in the country”. Regretting the “ugly” scenes in the state assemblies and Parliament, Jha claimed the “downfall” of democracy began since Independence. Replying to a query, Jha said that in view of present day politics, “It appeared that Indian democracy was feudalism under the garb of democracy”.

Rajneeti is a forthcoming Hindi language film to be directed by Prakash Jha. The political thriller stars Ajay Devgan, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in principal roles.
